PRE-CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Proper preparation is essential for refined, long-lasting results. Please review and follow all pre-care guidelines carefully. Failure to follow these instructions may affect pigment retention, healing, and your final outcome.

SERVICES COVERED

7–10 DAYS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Avoid:
❌ Retinol, Retin-A, Tretinoin, Vitamin A products near the treatment area
❌ Chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, or exfoliation on the area
❌ Botox or dermal fillers near the treatment area
❌ Sunburn, tanning, or excessive sun exposure

Do:
✅ Keep the skin hydrated and healthy
✅ Lip clients: Gently exfoliate lips 2–3 days before your appointment
✅ Use a nourishing lip balm daily leading up to lip services

LIP CLIENTS – COLD SORE PREVENTION (RECOMMENDED)

If you are booking Lip Color Enhancement or Lip Neutralization:

• You must obtain an antiviral prescription from your physician OR
• Begin taking 4,000 mg of L-lysine daily starting 5 days prior to your appointment and continue for 2 weeks after your service

This is recommended to significantly reduce the risk of cold sore outbreaks following lip pigmentation. Clients who do not follow this protocol may experience delayed healing or flare-ups.

48 HOURS BEFORE

Avoid:
❌ Alcohol
❌ Caffeine
❌ Blood-thinning medications or supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E unless prescribed)
These can increase sensitivity and bleeding, affecting pigment retention.

24 HOURS BEFORE

❌ No intense workouts or heavy sweating
❌ No waxing, threading, or tinting of brows
❌ No tanning beds or prolonged sun exposure
❌ No self-tanner on face or chest
✅ Hydrate well and get adequate rest

DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT

✔️ Arrive with clean skin (no makeup on the treatment area)
✔️ Shower beforehand (avoid getting the treated area wet immediately after service)
✔️ Eat a light meal prior to your appointment
✔️ Wear comfortable clothing
✔️ Areola clients: Wear loose, front-opening tops

MEDICAL & SKIN CONSIDERATIONS

Please notify us prior to booking if you:
• Are pregnant or nursing
• Have diabetes, autoimmune conditions, or healing disorders
• Are prone to keloid scarring
• Have a history of cold sores (lip clients)
• Are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation
• Have had recent breast surgery (areola restoration may require medical clearance)

Certain conditions require written physician approval prior to treatment.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Results vary by skin type, lifestyle, and adherence to pre-care & aftercare
• Oily skin types may heal softer and may require additional refinement
• You must be 18+ to receive permanent makeup services
• One refinement session is recommended and typically scheduled 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment
